Ok, guys. Since I'm a hardcore Disney fan, I wanted to say my own opinion about the news that Disney laid off many workers and that they won't do 2D animated films anymore. (sorry if my English is bad)

I think many people are overreacting a little. How can 2D animation be dead by something like that? Of course we won't see it as often from now on, but it's still one of the most adored art styles in the world. And I don't have anything against 3D (as long as it's done right), the animation in Tangled looked beautiful in my opinion and Pixar have improved a lot since the first Toy Story. I have studied CGI myself and I know that IT ISN'T ANY EASIER THAN DRAWING WITH A PENCIL.

I have seen the Goofy short "How to hook up your home theater" which didn't use ANY paper at all and it looked really cool to me. And of course, last year came "Paperman" and it blended 2D and 3D together. I saw it and the animation really worked. I mean, can't they do animation like that again someday? Don't the current workers still have pen tablets or something? Could there be still some people that would do something for this situation? Come on people, don't lose your hope!

I have heard that there is a Mickey Mouse film coming out someday. I love Mickey very much (although I'm a Finn) and I would love if the movie would be in 2D because most of the 3D animations with Mickey and friends don't really seem to work. Maybe they could finally succeed with this film, but I still would prefer if it was hand drawn animation. They could at least put some outlines to the characters.

Disney, if you see this message somehow, I want to say that there are people like me in the world really care about your works, were they drawn with pencil or not, but remember that you can't always follow the same pattern. You can sometimes give us some hand drawn animation and sometimes some 3D. As long as you make good stories, characters and art, we are interested. ^^
